Hi, all!

This week, we got some big news about the immigration reform bill. It's a little wonky, but it's so great that I couldn't wait to share it with you.

The nonpartisan experts who estimate the financial impact of legislation for Congress concluded that because undocumented immigrants will start paying more in taxes for things like education and Social Security, the immigration proposal in the Senate will make the economy fairer for middle class families while cutting the U.S. deficit by almost $1,000,000,000,000 over the next two decades.

With every passing day, it’s becoming clear that we can’t afford not to act. Now we know exactly how much is at stake, and it's the kind of news that can help to change the policy conversation in Washington.

So we've put together a graphic that explains exactly how this works, and we need your help to share it. If more people get the facts, it'll be easier to build a nationwide, bipartisan consensus to get this done.

Take a look, then share this graphic with folks you know:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/share/1trillion#graphic?utm_source=email&utm_medium=social&utm_content=061913p1&utm_campaign=immigration
According to the CBO, immigration reform will save us nearly 1 trillion dollars.

Cutting edge classrooms
President Obama is on his way to North Carolina to see how one middle school is developing a cutting edge curriculum that embraces technology and digital learning -- and talk about the way we can bring that kind of innovation to more classrooms across the country.
As soon as that event concludes, we're hosting a national show and tell with high tech schools from around the country. Students and teachers will demonstrate how they're using connected classrooms to improve the education system.
And we want you to be part of that discussion. Watch live as it happens at 3:30 today!

Building a Rising, Thriving Middle Class
In this week's Weekly Address, President Obama talks about his belief that a rising, thriving middle class is the true engine of economic growth -- and that to reignite that engine and continue to build on the progress we’ve made over the last four years, we need to invest in three areas: jobs, skills and opportunity.

I keep a to-do list in my desk.

It's ambitious, but you and I didn't set out to do easy things.

As long as I can count on you to be a part of this, we will find a way to make progress on all of it -- continuing to create good-paying jobs, fixing our broken immigration system, finding a common-sense way to reduce gun violence in this country, and more.

No president can do it alone.

Say you're in:

There's a lot of work to do -- thanks for doing your part.

The White House, Washington
Good morning --
On Sunday, I was in Moore, Oklahoma. Today, I'm headed to the Jersey Shore. Those two communities are separated by half a continent but united by a common sense of purpose. Like Joplin, Tuscaloosa, and New Orleans, they are home to people who've seen nature at its worst and humanity at its best. And they're filled with those who have made the choice to rebuild after disaster, to come back stronger than ever.
The scene on the ground this weekend was one we all know too well: homes wrecked and neighborhoods devastated. But the memories I'll take away from Moore will be of people standing tall, of neighbor helping neighbor, of survivors working to ensure that no one suffers through tragedy alone. And that too, was strikingly familiar. I could have been back in Brigantine Beach after Hurricane Sandy. I could have been in Joplin in 2011.
It's because of those past experiences in places like New Jersey and Missouri that I have faith that Moore will emerge from the wreckage of this tornado stronger than ever. And that's in part because I know that they won't undertake the road to recovery alone. This was a national tragedy, and that demands a national response.
If you want to help, the best way to support those affected by this storm is to make a financial contribution to the voluntary organization of your choice. The best way to volunteer is to affiliate with an organization that is already providing support to survivors.
We've set up a page to help steer you in the right direction. Check it out to get started:
Thank you,
President Barack Obama

Justinian --

Tomorrow I'm heading to Charlotte for our convention.

I want the folks who've stepped up for this election to be together when I accept the nomination on Thursday. And thanks to some of this campaign's best volunteers, there's a way for you to do that from Garland.

Your neighbors are planning a watch party, where you can tune in to the big night and be part of the discussion about the next steps for getting out the vote in your hometown.

RSVP now for the convention watch party in Garland on Thursday, September 6th.

What: Convention watch party in Garland

Where: 1001 Homer Johnson Lane
Garland, TX 75044

When: Thursday, September 6th
7:30 pm

RSVP now

There will be a lot going on that night, both at the convention and at the volunteer-organized party near you. We'll talk about what we've got to do next to keep moving our country forward.

Before I speak, there will be a livestream -- hosted by my friend Kal Penn -- that features special guests and exclusive interviews with folks like Michelle and Joe Biden.

We've come a long way together. This should be a night to savor -- and prepare for the decisive stretch of this campaign.

Be a part of it at the convention watch party in Garland:

Until Thursday,

Barack

P.S. -- If you've been looking for a way to step up your involvement for the last weeks of the campaign, there won't be a better one than this. RSVP now.

I know your life is full -- with work, or school, or family -- and yet you still find the time to help out when you can.

You may have a tight budget, but you give what you can afford.

A woman recently told the campaign her family skipped a pizza dinner at their favorite place so that they could make a difference in this election.

That is the commitment that drives this campaign.

If you can support Barack with a donation today, please know it makes a huge difference. If we win, it will be because of what you did at moments like this:

Justinian --

Tonight I'll take the stage in Charlotte to talk about why my husband -- and our president -- is the right man for the job.

Twenty-three years ago, I fell in love with Barack because of his passion, sense of purpose, and his determination to make life better for other people. It's just who he is -- and it's who he continues to be every day in the White House.

And for these next two months, we've got to give it everything we've got so that we have the chance to finish what we started.

Already this week, folks have chipped in more than 120,000 grassroots donations to help build this organization. That's just incredible.

So let's see how many people we can get to chip in by the end of this convention. If you think Barack's the right man for the job, please show your support with a donation of $7 or more today:

up to $100,000.

It's easy to believe that the problems of the world are just too big for one person to really make a difference. How can one person, or one tree sapling, or one dose of medicine change anything?

I'm telling you right now it can – and it has. The work of the Clinton Foundation proves again and again that individual actions can add up to make an enormous difference.

Each tree sapling placed in the ground is getting us closer to our goal of reforesting a barren Haiti. Each dose of zinc and oral rehydration salts gets us closer to our goal of saving the lives of nearly 170,000 children. And each person who steps forward to support the work of the Clinton Foundation is helping build a movement that touches millions of lives every year.

In fact, if you're willing to step forward with a donation today, I will personally match every dollar you give – up to $100,000 – from now until June 27.
https://re.clintonfoundation.org/SSLPage.aspx?pid=4618&utm_campaign=2013Match&utm_medium=email&utm_source=061913MatchND

I truly believe that everyone can do something to make a difference in the lives of others; and because we can, we should.

Just last month, I traveled to Peru and Colombia to see some of the Foundation's work first-hand and meet with some of the hardworking men and women whose lives have been transformed as a result of our programs. All of them have faced countless obstacles as they tried to build not just a better life for themselves, but also for their children, siblings, and parents.

Today these same people are successful small business owners, accomplished craftsman, or skilled workers with new expertise in growing industries. Seeing their passion for their work and their pride in being able to provide a stronger future for their families makes me incredibly proud of our progress.

As a supporter, I hope you share that pride, because you're a critical piece of these successes.

Of course, there is still more work to be done. In the coming months we will continue to:

    Connect thousands of smallholder farmers in Malawi and Tanzania with better markets for their crops;
    Complete the construction of a soy processing plant and a coffee roasting and packaging plant in Rwanda that will improve the incomes of nearly 50,000 surrounding farmers;
Deploy up to 9,000 hybrid electric buses across Latin American cities between now and 2018; and
Provide critical job skills to low-income Colombians in the newly opened Acceso Training Center where more than 20,000 workers will receive job training in the next 10 years; and more.

If you want to be part of this work – work that's changing lives and providing real opportunity – there's one simple thing you can do right now: join us.

Make a donation today. I'm personally putting up $100,000 to match all your gifts until June 27.

Thank you so much for your contribution and your continuing commitment to this important work. I'm truly inspired by the community of Clinton Foundation supporters and all that we're able to accomplish together.

Bill Clinton

Hello --
Today President Obama announced a plan to help protect our kids and communities from gun violence. You're going to hear a lot about it, but I wanted to make sure you got a chance to get the facts, straight from me.
After hearing from Americans from across the political spectrum, we decided to focus on some key priorities: closing background check loopholes, banning military-style assault weapons, making our schools safer, and increasing access to mental health services.
The ideas we sent to President Obama are straightforward. Each of them honors the rights of law-abiding, responsible Americans to bear arms. Some of them will require action from Congress; the President is acting on others immediately. But they're all commonsense and will help make us a little safer.
Now is the time for all of us to act.
Read about the events that brought us to this point, learn about the plan we've proposed to help protect our kids, and then add your name in support to help build momentum for this plan.
Here's what we've put together:
We're calling for requiring background checks for all gun sales and closing the loopholes that allow dangerous individuals to make their purchase without going through one of these checks.
We're asking for a new, stronger ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that allow a shooter to fire dozens of bullets as quickly as he can pull a trigger. And we're asking Congress to help protect law enforcement by make it illegal for members of the public to possess armor-piercing bullets.
We're going to give law enforcement more tools and resources to prevent and prosecute gun crimes, and we're going to end the freeze on gun violence research that prevents the Center from Disease Control from looking at the causes of gun violence.
We're calling on Congress to help make schools safer by putting up to 1,000 school resource officers and mental health professionals in schools and ensuring they have comprehensive emergency management plans in place.
And we're going to increase coverage so that students and young adults can get access to the mental health treatment they may need.
We know that no policy we enact or law we enforce can prevent every senseless act of violence in our country. But if we can save the life of even one child, we have a deep responsibility to act.
Now is the time to come together to protect our kids. Learn about the plan, then add your name alongside mine:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/now-is-the-time
Thanks,
Vice President Joe Biden

Always be doing something - 5 ways you can help win this
Justinian --

I've been through many Election Days -- every one is a rush of nerves, excitement, anxiety, and exhaustion all at once.

The secret to getting through: Always be doing something.

So here's a resource you can keep coming back to until the polls close.

Obviously, the most important thing you need to do is vote. Confirm your polling location and hours.

Make sure you ask some neighbors to go with you when you head over.

But when you're done with that, don't wait around for the news. Make the news -- do something:

http://my.barackobama.com/What-You-Can-Do

You don't even have to wait for Election Day to start. You can do something right now.

See you when it's all over.

Joe

Justinian --

In less than a week, Barack is heading to Chicago for Election Night. Whether he addresses the nation that night as a winner is up to you.

Barack knows it. I know it, too. It's why he wants you there with him.

But tonight at midnight is your last chance to enter.

Donate $5 or whatever you can to stop the other side from buying and bullying its way to a win right at the end -- and you'll be automatically entered to meet Barack and get a front-row seat at the Election Night event in Chicago.

Don't brush this off.

This race could not be closer, and voters in states that will decide the election are seeing ad after ad after ad attacking Barack and me.

Even a great campaign, with the right candidate and the right ideas, can lose to that kind of strategy in the end.

I've seen it happen.

The dangers of being drastically outspent, especially right now at the end of this campaign, are real. Mitt Romney and the Republicans have $45 million more in the bank than we do for the final push. Together with outside groups, they're outspending us in nearly every battleground state this week. That's a problem, folks, unless you take ownership of this campaign right now.

Please donate $5 or whatever you can today, so that if you meet Barack next week, you'll know you did everything you could to help him beat this back:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Close-the-Gap

Thanks,

Joe

Look -- Barack and I need you.

We recently found out that, as we head into the final push, Mitt Romney and the Republicans have $45 million more in the bank than we do.

That's a problem, folks. In a race that's as close as they come -- and with Election Day almost here -- we're not willing to lose this in the end.

The good news is, if you chip in today, we can close that gap more quickly than you think. But only if you step up and do your part.

Please don't wait any longer. Help us out with a donation of $5 or more today:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Close-the-Gap

When you do, you'll be automatically entered to come out to Chicago for Election Night -- you and a guest will meet Barack and watch his speech from right up front.

Don't pass this one up, Justinian.

Thanks,

Joe

The Climate Reality Project

Dear Justinian,

Seven years ago, I was honored to have my presentation on climate change turned into a movie called An Inconvenient Truth. To this day, I am consistently gratified when people tell me that the film opened their eyes to the climate crisis, and that it has encouraged and inspired acts of leadership, big and small, around the world.

In honor of the seventh anniversary of the film's release, I'm pleased to invite you to join me for an interactive Google Hangout with my good friend Jeff Skoll tomorrow, June 11, at 2pm EDT. We will talk about some key developments in the climate effort since the film originally came out. Most importantly, I want to invite you to participate in shaping the conversation by submitting your questions and watching the Hangout here https://plus.google.com/events/crr4hedpll2u0lbt08ut37bdt1c

Also, as part of the anniversary celebration, The Climate Reality Project has helped put together this list of ten actions http://climaterealityproject.org/take-action-now/ you can take right now on climate change. I hope that you'll visit the site, share it with your friends, and get inspired!

Sincerely,

Al Gore

The House voted to deport the DREAMers

Justinian --

Last summer, President Obama took action to give more than a million young people a shot at the American Dream when he announced "deferred action" -- providing legal protection for undocumented young people who were brought to America through no fault of their own.

These are the "DREAMers," named after the DREAM Act.

And yesterday, 224 members of the House of Representatives, including almost every Republican, voted to take that protection away and resume the deportations.

Congress needs to know that the American people don't support that -- and the hopeful young people they've now put in jeopardy need to know it, too.

Add your name to say you stand with the DREAMers today -- and let's double down in our fight for comprehensive immigration reform.

Imagine you've done everything right your entire life -- grown up in a community, gone to school, played by the rules, and broken no laws. But you suddenly face the threat of deportation to a country that you know nothing about with a language that you might not even speak.

That's wrong. That's not who we are.

These young people were brought to this country as kids, through no fault of their own. They have seen what's best about this country. That's why they so desperately want to be a part of it.

If you think these DREAMers deserve a fair shot, add your name to say you're going to fight for them -- and for comprehensive immigration reform today:

Emmy

Justinian, this is huge news:

President Obama is set to announce his plan this week to address the growing threat of climate change.

We'll know more specifics on Tuesday, but it's expected he'll offer a bold, national approach to reducing carbon pollution -- and lay out a vision to lead global efforts to fight climate change.

The powerful, well-financed forces who still deny the science behind climate change aren't going to like this -- and they'll be fighting this progress every step of the way. In fact, before he's even seen the plan, House Speaker John Boehner is calling it "absolutely crazy."

That's why President Obama is calling on all of us -- anyone who believes that climate change is a threat -- to join him in taking action right now.

Thanks for helping hold climate deniers accountable -- join the President's call and add your name today:

http://my.barackobama.com/Stand-Up-Against-Climate-Change

Thanks -- more on this soon.

Do you like Obamacare?

Then I'm asking you to show it.

Say you're on Team Obamacare, the group of grassroots supporters who will be spreading the word on how health care reform is improving the lives of millions of Americans -- and we'll send you a free bumper sticker to say thanks.

People like you have been fighting to improve access to affordable health care since day one, because no one should ever have to go bankrupt because they get sick.

And even though Obamacare has been the law for more than three years, the other side is still trying to chip away at it. The House of Representatives has voted to repeal it 37 times, and conservative state legislatures across the country are passing laws that make it harder for their constituents to get access to affordable care.

So we're taking a stand.

Obamacare's not going anywhere. And neither are we.

Join Team Obamacare -- and tell us where to send your free bumper sticker today:

Trying to get Congress to pass good, progressive legislation isn't easy -- we know that pretty well by now.

That's why this is so important: Right now, Congress is closer to passing comprehensive immigration reform than they've been in a generation.

Last Tuesday, a smart, bipartisan bill for comprehensive immigration reform moved ahead toward a full vote in the Senate -- and that vote could happen in just a matter of weeks.

If there was ever a time to get off the sidelines, it's now.

Simply add your name and say you'll join our fight for immigration reform today.

Just as we're going to rail on Congress when they cave to pressure from special interests and fail the people who sent them there, we're going to rally behind them when they start getting things done.

The organizing on the ground, the Days of Action, the tweets, Facebook posts, and calls to Congress are working -- but we absolutely can not let up now.

If we fail, it might be years before we get anywhere near this close again.

Keep going.

Add your name today:

Thank you,

Thank President Obama for cutting carbon pollution

Dear Justinian,
The Climate Reality Project applauds President Obama's leadership in providing a plan to mitigate the major contributing factors to climate change.
Just as the global threat of terrorism united our country in the last decade, it is imperative that the American people rally behind the President in supporting these initiatives to dramatically reduce the 90 million tons of carbon pollution that is dumped into our atmosphere each day -- pollution that has already cost this nation hundreds of billions of dollars in direct costs to our businesses, our homes, and our way of life.
The three main planks of President Obama's plan -- reducing carbon emissions, providing international leadership, and preparing the United States for climate-related disasters -- are critical steps forward domestically and abroad. The President's plan makes clear that a clean energy future, the performance of the American economy, and the protection of our planet are mutually reinforcing. Fortunately, the solutions and technology are already at our disposal, and the President's plan will create the enabling environment to bring these solutions to scale.
